Earth Stations – Education Stations

The Education Stations are five buildings for training, each devised for a specific phase in people’s growth; nevertheless, they are not made to categorise the ages but to favour dialogue between the different generations. Inside, the multigenerational comparison produces the advantages deriving from communication between different age bands. The architectural elements that mark the pace of the evolution of civilisation are the same as the growth phases of a human being; we have made them become the milestones of a new concept of buildings for education that do not claim to replace traditional systems, but are intended to be integrated with them. The Farm Station is metaphorically the farm of the first men, who ceased hunting in the woods and gathering berries and stayed put; they stopped wandering the world and decided instead to make the world turn around them. They planted seeds in the fields and enclosed animals to breed them, discovering the advantages of the production of animal and vegetable foods to eat and make their existence more comfortable. The farms then joined together to face the difficulties and dangers better, and became villages (Village Station). The first communities were created and people began to collaborate with each other, and then the villages grew and became towns (Town Station), and then the towns were interconnected and roads appeared (Road Station), and from then on roads invaded the world, making every day smaller and more accessible (World Station).
