Oman Archeology Museum
The project for the Oman Archaeology Museum (OAM) came about as a result of the desire to make the past and the future meet, showcasing the history of the country and archaeological finds through new technologies. AMDL CIRCLE has imagined over 5000 m2 to be devoted to exhibiting the treasures of Oman, with interactive presentation systems to create narrations capable of exciting, not didactic but of high scientific value. The plan combines the forms of Islamic architecture with inspirations from the organic world. It is composed of 25 trapezoidal forms that are rotated inside a regular square planning grid. This solution gives the museum a sense of geometrical order, also allowing the adoption of display systems with soft, rounded lines. The roof coverings of the interiors evoke traditional domed roofs. Environmental comfort and the energy sources are a genuine project integrated into the architecture, combining traditional methods of shading, natural ventilation and wind collectors...
