Earth Stations – Happy Stations
Happy Stations are a typology of condominiums conceived in 2021 that addresses the theme of living, starting from the human need to share, and trying to find architectural solutions to foster the joyful and peaceful coexistence of a community. But how are the Happy Stations different from the condominium buildings we know? But how are the Happy Stations different from the condominium buildings we know? When designing a condominium building, we usually start from the distribution of the apartments within a predefined volume or area and try to allocate as much space as possible for residential use. In the Happy Stations, this design method is completely dismantled: in the foreground there are no longer private houses but common spaces, called labs, which represent and symbolize the reasons for choosing a particular condominium. We exemplified five possible reasons for five possible workshops, which then became the fulcrum around which to develop the architectural project. Thus, the condominium that welcomes different generations, cultures and opinions rises above a platform for community events and activities of social and intercultural interest (Iridescent Community). The condominium for horticulture enthusiasts is not a house with an adjoining vegetable garden, but a vegetable garden with houses around it (Green Community). The complex for professionals focuses on the roof, transformed into a workspace (Blue Community). The condominium for lovers of books and reading is a large library onto which the apartments are grafted (Gold Community). Finally, the one for crafts, hobby, mechanics and electronics enthusiasts transforms the stairwells into workshops and labs for manual activities (Bright Community).
