Uffici direzionali Enel Power, Milano

The restructuring project was conducted on the ninth floor of the building constructed in 1952 by Gio Ponti for Edison in Via Carducci in Milan, with the aim of using it as the site for the executive offices and showrooms of Enel Power, the company founded by Enel to handle the planning and realisation of power plants. The solution designed transforms the original distribution of the building into an open space with a central corridor and rooms in sequence on both sides. The meeting rooms and the few closed offices are concentrated at the extremities of the floor. Curvilinear walls and furnishing elements interrupt the monotony of the rooms, which follow each other in linear succession and enable the spaces to be structured in a very lively manner, also making relations more functional between location and location, between executive offices, meeting rooms, reception offices and spaces for informal meetings. A central distributor on the floor carries the cabling, while a lowered ceiling at the perimeter by the external doors and windows houses the delivery ducting of the new air conditioning system.
