Rokko Silence Resort

The Rokko Silence Resort is a large hotel complex combining the value of history, the wonder of nature and the surrounding landscape and the comfort of a contemporary structure. It stands on the top of the luxuriant Mount Rokko, from which you can admire the Bay of Kobe, the city of Osaka and the gentle slopes of the mountains and woods towards the hinterland. The intervention of AMDL CIRCLE envisages the redevelopment of the site through the showcasing and restoration of the existing high-quality structures – such as the English Villa inaugurated in 2019 – the demolition of some buildings with a strong environmental impact and the construction of new architectures serving the resort, standing out among which is the large Silence Ring. The Ring is a circular building that will host the guests’ rooms. The recognisable plan is raised with respect to the ground to allow nature to enter the architecture: wood will be an integral part of the architecture and will harmonise its presence on the mountain. The circular form also guarantees the maximum privacy for the rooms, which will have unique and privileged views of the landscape. The function rooms, the restaurant and the environments devoted to the spa will be located on the lower floor; the Silence Ring will have the appearance of a semi-hypogeal architecture immersed in nature.
