Architect’s Tools
Architect's Tools is a collection of accessories and clothing devoted to those who inhabit and wear this our time. The Tools, entirely designed by the youngest members of AMDL CIRCLE, come from outside the comfort zone of architectural planning and design. They are objects imagined for a practical and uninhibited use, coming about from the working requirements of the designers themselves. The style proposed is trans-generational, agender, pragmatic, and inspired by the culture of the laboratory, where manual work gives form to thought. Designed with a project ethics that excludes the superfluous, the Tools are suited to the fluid environments of today, where workspaces are spread out and every place can become an office and a laboratory. A dynamic collection for moving freely, dedicated to those who travel, to those who discover, to those who connect. Thus a new type of functionality comes to life.
The Architect’s Tools are objects but also concepts: a light that follows us; a stool that is also a small table, a hanger and – why not? – a totem; a bag to contain pencil, set-square and compass together with a laptop and other digital instruments; a jacket with pockets, mini and maxi, practical and essential, for those who work with their minds and with their hands. Finally, to communicate the thought of AMDL CIRCLE, printed on the jackets and shirts are the images of the Earth Stations, which convey the optimistic vision of the future and the studio’s continuous research aiming to improve the quality of life, both physical and intellectual. The collection is organised into two lines: the blue edition and the yellow edition.
